Two Paths, One Transition: AI Governance and Adoption at KWF Kankerbestrijding
KWF
Externally, AI evolves in a matter of months, while internally, an organization changes over the course of years. At KWF Kankerbestrijding, a charity where some 200 colleagues work in self-organizing circles, AI cannot simply be “rolled out.” KWF therefore takes a two-pronged approach. The adoption track provides space to experiment safely and to make mistakes. The governance track provides direction by making conscious choices about what KWF will do with AI—and what it will leave out, despite the hype. Veerle Schoon and Steef van Velzen share what worked, what proved challenging, and what they would do differently now. Visitors will take away concrete lessons for their own organizations and go home with one question: What will you do with the time that AI frees up?
